I updated Storyline 360 this morning (11-28-18) and now I've noticed Safari (version 12.01) on a Mac renders HTML5 published text very poorly. Especially when using the Modern player. It also seems that photos are rendered a bit softer as well. Anyone else having this problem?
Hi there, Steve! I'm happy to look into what's happening with the quality.
Can you help me with these key details?
How do the text and photos look in other browsers?
Would you be able to share your .story file? I'll give it a test in a similar environment and let you know what I find. You can either attach it to this conversation or send it to me privately via this link.
Circling back here to note that we were able to replicate the blurry text problem in Safari (HTML5 output) and have it logged as a potential bug. I've added this conversation to the report so that we can keep you updated with any new insight.
While we investigate this issue, one workaround is to convert the affected text to an image. Simply right-click on the text > Select 'Save as Picture' > Save it as a .PNG file and replace the textbox with the image.
Thanks for letting us know about this, and I'm so sorry for any headaches!
The only affected fonts we know of at this point are custom font, Cabin Sketch, and the standard Windows fonts. We'll keep this discussion updated as soon as new information becomes available.
If you're able to share the .story file, we're happy to take a close look in the meantime!

Is this issue font-specific?
I have tried several fonts and got the same result each time.

Thanks Katie, I don’t have an issue with this. I was just wondering if there were specific fonts to avoid to prevent getting tripped up.
