I noticed in Articulate Storyline 360, the search function available in player is only searching the text that is on the base layer. It does not search the text that is in the sub layers.
Checked the search settings for additional option available in 360 to include sub layer also, but could not find any.
Anyone else facing the same issue? If yes, then is there a way to solve it?
Looks like you've reached out to our support team as Matthew recommended and you are currently working with John :) Just wanted to make sure you got where you needed.
Hi Leslie, Thanks for joining in, that's correct, John asked me for the source file this morning. I have provided him the .storyfile. Waiting for his reply :)
Unfortunately, I don't have an update to share. It's still open with our team, and it looks like it's an issue within Storyline 3 and Storyline 360 (although it didn't happen with SL1 or SL2).
This discussion is tagged so that as soon as we have additional info to share we'll post here.
Also, I wanted to share one of the suggested workarounds is to place an off-slide text box on the base layer with the text that needs to searchable. That way searching will bring you to that particular slide where the items were referenced.
Thanks for reaching out for an update on this topic.
We released Update 27, which included a fix for the issue where the search feature in the Menu was unable to locate any text in slide layers.
If you see an issue in a more recent version, then we'd want to take a look. You can share your .story project file privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
I have multiple projects published to a server and would like to leverage the Storyline search functionality to search all of the projects on the server in one fell swoop. Is the search functionality searching the frame.xml file in the story_content folder?

As far as I can see this has not fixed. Text on layers is not picked up by the search.
It used to work but no longer does.
Can we get an update asap please!

Where is the Search function in Storyline 360? I am attempting to search for a specific word, for editing purposes, in my project.
