Seekbar, Layer and audio
May 24, 2012
First of all congratulation for work on Storyline, this Product will definively improve the interactivity of the Rapid Learning modules.
I'm looking for a way to restart the seekbar when the user show a layer. Here is my problem :
I have a menu based on 3 buttons that show 3 layers. Each layer contains audio. After the end of the audio instruction in the Base Layer, the seekbar reach the end. When the user make a choice and click on a button, the correponding Layer is displayed with audio. The problem is that the seekbar is still stopped at the end, so the user cannot control the audio inside the layer.
Thank you in advance for all the help!

Hi Jerome! See if this helps: click the gear icon on your layer, to bring up the layer properties. Use the "Allow Seeking" selector to choose Yes. This should cause the seekbar to be functional for your layer.
Thank you very very much!
Have a nice day!

Ahh, I didn't know that either!
Thanks a lot!! =)
This was driving me crazy until I came across this post. Thanks Jeanette!
Thanks Jeanette this is just what I was looking for
Oh cool, glad to hear that!
Thank you - this was also causing me trouble and works like a charm!
Cool!
Me too. My issue was audio would play on the layer, but not replay when the user hit the rewind button, even though I had the layer set to reset to initial state. Bingo!
When I add the seekbar capabilities, and try to fast forward on a layer by sliding the seekbar, the audio does not fast forward, but the rest of the layer does. What am I missing?
Hi Lisa,
Do you possibly have a trigger associated with playing your audio? When doing so, it's divorced from the player, as Storyline wouldn't have an idea of when you'd begin playing the audio.
I have seen many posts with the wrong answer. Stating that it can't be done. I just found this post and I am sooo happy!!
It fixed the problem with the audio not restarting even though it is in a layer
Thank you!
Hi Dana - I'm glad that this thread helped you out, and welcome to the Heroes community!
