Selected State Issue

I’m creating a tab-based interaction in Storyline that contains five tabs (FYI I used the shapes function, particularly rectangles, to create these tabs instead of using buttons).

I am using Articulate’s built-in hover and selected states. When I select a shape, the “select” state seems to work. However, the moment I move the cursor away from the shape, the “selected” state reverts to the normal state. Ideally, the shape will remain “selected” until another shape is clicked on.

Does anyone have any advice? I looked through previous discussions to see if I could find a solution, but I haven’t had any luck. Thank you in advance!
