Setting up slides into sections

1. Create two new scenes
2. Delete the slides that are created with the new scenes
3. In your first scene, select slides 1.17-1.32 and drag them over the second scene. This will renumbers the slides 2.1-2.16
4. In your first scene, select slides 1.17-1.32 and drag them over the third scene. This will renumber the slides 3.1-3.16

Did you mean to create two new "SLIDES"?  I cannot find anything that says create new SCENES. 

And my slide template is a custom built background. So the fist slide I built was then used to create all remaining slides.

I did mean 'scenes'. In StoryView, right-click and select New Scene or select  New Scene from the Home tab on the Toolbar. The look&feeel of your existing slides should be unchanged, since you only move them from one scene to another.
