A quick search did not yield answers so heres my question:
If I have a large number of items on a single slides that requires additional explanation, which is the best soltuion from a performance & productivity wise?
1. use shape states, or
2. use layers, or
3. create a slide for each item and show as lightbox
Performance shouldn't be an issue the first big project i built a single slide had 250 slide layers with 125 videos, each of those slides had plenty of states.

From productivity it is going to be layers or slides, if you use states each time you want to edit it will mean clicking edit states each time
Thanks Phil!
I wonder how performance plays into this. And if it does not, then I wonder on what basis to select the best method.

Storyline is much better now than it was then
