showing base layer

I have a slide with five layers. there is a button on the corner that once you click it, it displays layer two. layer two is a transparent layer that shows at the bottom. it works fine except for the fact that when you're on layer 3 or 4 or 5 and you click the button to display layer two, it does, but it shows the base layer under it all.
How can i get it to show layer two without showing the base layer.
I know how to hide the base layer, but if i do that, when you're on the base layer and click the button to show layer two, instead of showing layer two at the bottom, it will show layer two and hide the base layer.
I hope i haven't confused everyone.

Hey Cindy, I sounds like you might need to move Layer 2 to the top of your Slide Layers stack.
Cindy, Could you tell me a little more about what is on each layer in very general terms, so I can be more helpful? For example
Layer 5 - Colored background, base layer hidden, room for banner across the bottom, all other layers hidden
Layer 4 - Colored background, base layer hidden, room for banner across the bottom, all other layers hidden
Layer 3 - Colored background, base layer hidden, room for banner across the bottom, all other layers hidden
Layer 2 - Transparent background, banner across bottom with text
Base Layer - Content with button on lower right
Does Layer 2 contain content or some navigation/interactive element?
Hello Cindy,
On the Layer properties of Layer 2 make sure to tick the option to Hide Base Layer. This should make sure that only the layer 2 shows.
Donna.
Cindy, Check out this Screenr to see if I recreated your idea. I only used 4 layers and shapes and triggers to make "Layer" 2 into a pseudo layer. One more note that I didn't point out in the video. On Layers 3-5, I checked "Hide other slide layers" and "Hide objects on base layer."
