When I tried to open a downloaded template from eLearning Bros., or tried to open another storyline file from a co-worker, I received this message: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I can open and work in Storyline 2, I just can't open any templates or current storyline modules. I'd love some feedback from the Storyline 2 wizards!
Sorry to hear about the error you're receiving. It looks like it's a local file path, so that's a good first thing to confirm based on the article here. Also, what update of Storyline are you using? I assume both the template and your other coworkers files are from SL2 as well?
Thank you, I was trying to import a Storyline template. I figured out that instead of opening the file with Storyline 2, I needed to import it.

They were from Storyline, not Storyline 2. I learned that I needed to use the "import" function instead of opening the file with SL2. That worked fabulously.
