Slide layers obstructing Base Layer
Jan 10, 2019
Hi,
I'm sure there is a simple way to fix this but I am struggling to find the solution. I am currently working on a project where there is a group of buttons which are situated on the Base Layer. Each button triggers a layer. However once even just one layer has been shown, I am unable to click on another button (which are situated on the base layer). I can see the buttons, however I can't click on them.
Is there a way to still be able to access the buttons on the base layer despite different layers being shown?
Thanks

Hi Romy,
You can check the Layer Properties by right-clicking on the Layer and check if this option is Enabled:
Hope this helps!
Hi Ryan,
I checked that and it is enabled. Still unable to click the buttons on the base layer.
Thanks though
Hi,
Should be Ticked Off if you want to be able to click based layer objects from slide layer.
Hi Romy,
Are you unable to click on them while editing or when previewing the slide? While you're editing a slide, you'll only be able to click on the objects on that base or slide layer. If you're not able to click on them while in preview/publish another thing to look for is any shapes, objects that are overlapping the base slide item and could be blocking mouse access to it.
If you need more help, with your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I’ll delete it when I’m done troubleshooting.
I'm having this same problem... and now I can't delete anything or edit my slide... I've spent about several hours trying to access my base layer off and on or delete the new slide layer...
Hi Sarah,
So sorry to hear this! We'd love to extend a hand.
