Splitting audio and video

Jun 10, 2013

Hi! I'm new to the community and love Articulate Storyline so far, but I was wondering if there is a way to split the audio and video on a narrated screen recording?

I want to be able to record what I am doing on the screen for demonstration purposes, however, if I make a mistake in the audio or video it doesn't seem like there is a way to edit them individually. I also don't see a way to record the screen demonstration first, and while that is later playing, record narration that would sync with the video.

Does Storyline have a feature that will allow me to work with audio/video in this way?

Thank you!

Howdy Maggie,

Welcome to Heroes! Currently there isn't a way to edit just the audio or video in a screen recording. It would make a nice feature request though.

You do have the option to export the screen recording as a video, which should allow you to use a third-party program to get access to just the audio or video, but you wouldn't be able to use that video in step-by-step slides like you can for a screen recording.

Always Happy to Help,

Adrian

I am not sure if writing anything here really helps, but yes, I am finding more and more issues with the tool that are assumed to be there in software like Articulate. And it is understandable that the feature is not there, but if there is a need for a feature, it should not take 6 years to build that. Kinda disappointing...

Another silly issue is related to blurry images which is causing a lot of inconvenience to me and my team.

Hi MK,

Our team is here and listening to all feedback shared. When folks request a feature here in E-Learning Heroes or by sending to us using our feature request form, we work through a process to prioritize and share those insights with our product team. Here's a bit more about how that process around feature requests works.

The blurry images you're seeing sound similar to a bug our team is investigating. To confirm and keep you updated I'd like to know a bit more about what and where you're seeing this issue. You can share details here or send to our Support Team.
