The linked document states you can have items on the master slide removed from the tab order by going to Size & Position and un-ticking the Object is visible in accessibility tools box.
I've done this several different times... it doesn't actually seem to be working. Is there a step that I'm missing?
You are doing this from the master slide, correct? You will not be able to do this from the Custom Tab Order option. Do you have a .story file that we could take a look at?
Managed to get it to work by deleting the original rectangle I had and replacing it with another. Odd error, and not the first time I've run into something that can be fixed that way.
I am running into this issue as well. So while we are waiting for an update, is the fix to delete all the original objects on the slide master and replace them with new ones in order to remove them from the tab order? Thanks!!
I don't see a specific fix or workaround that our team has determined yet for this issue - but it sounds like that may be a viable option to investigate. Let us know how it works and we can also share that update with our team as they continue to look into it.
I think my issue may have been different than Sean's. The issue I was having is that several of the items on the slide master are grouped items. I tried selecting all and then deselecting the Object is visible to accessibility tools. However it doesn't appear to work that way. I needed to go through and select each item individually AS WELL AS the group to hide them from the screen reader. Even hiding each one individually didn't hide the group unless I also hid the whole group. Seems to be working for me now by doing it that way. ;) Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing that update here - and yes, you can't hide the group as a whole, you'd have to hide each element. I do know that our team is investigating issues with accessing triggers associated with those items and using the screen reader functionality, so if you run into similar issues please keep us posted.

Yep, doing it straight from the master slide.

Hi Sean!
I did find a similar report with our QA Team, so it does seem to be something our team is aware of and looking into as well.
I will add this thread so that they are aware of potential users impacted and so that we can pop in and share an update here if applicable as well.
Glad to hear that you are good to go in the meantime.
