Has anyone tried to view videos using the new mobile player version in Storyline 360. My project runs perfectly on my Android phone and desktop but the video doesn't want to play in the iPhone (IOS 9.3.5)
Any help most appreciated as this would be a key reason to change from SL2 as all our staff (approx 10,000) use iPhones.
See attached file. I have tried this with another project yesterday also and that video didn't play also. It just shows the three white circles pulsing on a black screen and doesn't play on the iPhone but does on my Samsung Galaxy S5 from the same LMS. The video is on the third slide in the attached .story.
Just tried link, it still does the same as my LMS, when you get to the second slide and press the next button on the iPhone it dims the background screen and does the three blinking dots.
It works on my iPad with iOS 9.3.5 when viewing in Safari. You are viewing the content in Safari on your iPhone, correct? I'm reaching out to the team to see if we have a compatible iPhone to check this content as well.
Yes I am using an iPhone viewing in Safari. Probably the only difference is I go through a VPN to view the content. I have no problems with viewing videos in SL2 on the same iPhone.
Hi Ann-Marie! I have not found anyone with 9.3.5 on an iPhone. You go through a VPN to view the content? So, you are not pulling up the link directly on your iPhone to view, but if you do it works as expected? Just want to be sure that I'm following to understand if you're viewing in a supported environment.
Hi Leslie, thanks for checking this out - inbetween earthquakes and floods in the past few days I've had my mind on other things (I live in Wellington NZ). Yes we use a VPN. SL2 content views fine, the published SL360 doesn't play videos. Does this have something to do with how the video buffers? (Check with your techie people).
I was also having problems earlier today, but when I tried again late tonight it seems that my IOS 10 (Iphone) and IOS 9.3.5 (IPad) was once again able to play videos. Odd, not sure why, but happy it's working.
Glad to hear that you are safe Ann-Marie. I cannot imagine. I'll reach out to see if my team has any insight to share, but I'm not sure that's an environment that we can support.
Thanks for popping in with an update Luci - glad to hear that it's working for you now and thanks or sharing with the community.
I wouldn't expect your video from SL2 to SL360 to perform differently. I'd invite you to take a look at this comparison documentation here to understand what is new for SL360.
Are you looking at the exact same course with the exact same video for comparison?
If the video plays fine outside of your VPN, you may need to follow up with your team.
If you still need assistance from our team, you are welcome to work directly with a support engineer here.
I have the same problem. The modules that I created with Articulate 360 play on PCs, tablets, a Samsung smart phone, but they do not play on an i-phone. Here is the link to the module.
And you can see the Module 1 software, if you click on the Review tab. My friend cannot see the player on the initial screen, she just sees the pictures and the text, and she cannot see on many screens the mp4 videos attached and the player, she just sees the navigation bar.
Hi Natalya! Thanks for that information. When I view the course from your Articulate Review link on my iPhone, I see the same that Leslie sees, which is the responsive mobile player. The player looks different between a desktop computer and a mobile device.
When you are previewing your project in Storyline, check out the responsive preview.
With the responsive preview, you can see how your course will look on any device, and that can help guide you in creating instructions for users on how to navigate your course.
I'm going to check with my team to see if we have an iOS device that still has iOS 9. Will most people on iOS devices be using version 9?
Unfortunately the institutional video lectures included into the Storyline 360 project (animation created in Camtasia and published to mp4 format) cannot be viewed on any iphone.
It is not a different issue. It is the same issue. I just provided the details of what exactly is not playing on the IOS 9.3.5 iphone.
Let me know if you have any more questions. I will be happy to clarify the issue. I have attached a smaller size mp4 file as a sample. All other video files were created in Camtasia 8

Hi Ann-Marie!
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look?

Hi Ann-Marie!
Are you able to view the following published output as expected:

Hello,
I have the same problem. The modules that I created with Articulate 360 play on PCs, tablets, a Samsung smart phone, but they do not play on an i-phone. Here is the link to the module.

I am using Safari on an iphone. Any explanation or guidance would be appreciated.
Hello Natalya and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Can you tell me what you are seeing when you click the link on an iPhone using Safari?
Here's what I see:
I am using iOS 11.2.5, so curious what iOS you are using as well as what you are seeing.
Dear Leslie,
My friend tried it on the iphone. I forwarded your questions to her.
While I am waiting for her response, you can see the screen shots of the software screens under the "feedback" tab. See the link below.

For whom it may concern,

And that is the major problem.

Hi Natalya,
Trying to follow along here.
Is this a different issue than we were looking at above? If so, do you have a copy of an mp4 we could take a look at?
Or is this the same video? You mention if cannot be viewed on any iPhone, but do all of these have iOS 9.3.5 as you mentioned above?
Dear Leslie,
It is not a different issue. It is the same issue. I just provided the details of what exactly is not playing on the IOS 9.3.5 iphone.

Hi Natalya,
I've submitted a support case on your behalf for our support engineers to take a look. I've included all of the details you've shared here.
They have additional resources for testing and hopefully we will be able to get this pinned down for you.
You will get an e-mail from support@articulate.com.
Dear Leslie,
Thank you.
I am looking forward to their solution.
It has been my pleasure working with you.
Respectfully,
Natalya
