I'm having an issue with hyperlinking Excel files in SL2. I've tried linking files directly, URL (file stored in the intranet), linking from text box and hotspot. When I upload my content to an LMS all I get is a bunch of gibberish. What can be the cause of such behavior?
Hi Marta- Try it without the LMS to isolate the problem, then try it on diff browsers, sounds like a browser security issue. Also consider making it a .zip file.
The gibberish is prob binary code of file, and your system doesn't know how to open it.?? I think.
Looks like Ryan has popped in to assist you here and I also wanted to be sure that you were publishing and sharing as explained here:
If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. See this article for details.
@Ryan I tried running the course in a different browser - IE and it worked fine. So far, I found Firefox less problematic than IE. Honestly, all browsers in my company are out of date and it's a constant struggle for anything to work :(
I guess there's no workaround for this, except for instructing people to use IE ;) Anyways, thank you for your assistance, it's just something to keep in mind :)

@Leslie I did put the course in the LMS.
