Storyline Layers and "Previous" button

Hi,
I've created a course in which some slides have multiple layers. Everything works perfectly unless a learner wants to see what was on the previous screen. When they click "Prev", or the slide title in the menu, they are taken back to the previous slide, but the layer they just viewed does not disappear, so they are now seeing the original layer and the second layer on the slide.
With the courses I'm developing layers are required, and it is also very likely the learners will want to go back and check on something as they work through the course. How do I ensure they can do that without having all my layers appear on top of each other? As long as everything is forward flowing, everything is just fine.
Thanks
Sharon

If I am understanding correctly, you should be able to do this with the slide settings. Just make sure your revisit option is set to "resume saved state."
Oops, I messed up already. I thought you did want the layer they were just viewing visible. In that case you can set the revisit option to "Reset to Initial state". If that isn't what you want, you could add triggers to the previous button to hide layers upon clicking.
OK...where do I find the revisit option?
I tried looking at adding a trigger, but the "Prev" button does not appear on the slide when I'm creating it. I only see it when I preview the slide or presentation. How do I add the trigger to it?
The revisit option is found on the base layer settings. look for the little gear icon to the right of your base layer.
When adding a trigger, just click the 'create a new trigger icon' and the previous button will be an option for an object you can select (as long as you have the previous button checked in your slide sttings.
