Storyline size to fir the iPad screen size
Jul 06, 2014
Hi,
I am new to storyline and have just published a course. As we have to have the user login therefore I cannot publish the course as web and we need the data from users so publish mode will always have to be LMS.
The course works fine in the PCs but I am unable to find the optimal storyline size that works both in landscape and portrait mode of iPad. The portrait mode seems fine but due to less space, the content looks bit smaller and huge blank area appears on both, top and bottom of the storyline.
I have already tried screen sizes
1024 x 768
1000 x 750
960 x 640
859 x 580
756 x 567
However, still out of luck. The storyline window is not ready to fit in the landscape mode. I don't mind if it's not showing properly on portrait mode as no one uses portrait for learning or reading. However, the landscape mode should fit it properly.
Anyone help is highly appreciated and please see the images for more details
Kind regards,
Muhammad

Hi Muhammad and welcome to Heroes!
It looks like your LMS is displaying the content within an iFrame? This is a known issue right now that we've reported to our QA team. As they investigate potential fixes, it's also worth checking with your LMS team if there is a way to force it out of the iFrame and you can confirm that this is the issue by testing your course content at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content, as the behavior is not reproducible there.
Dear Ashley,
Thanks very much for your quick reply. Ashley, I am going to research on how to modify the iFrame issue in Moodle. However, do you guys have any solution at this point, any work around or this is not going to work at all ?? I know this is storyline help but if you know any thread on any website to fix this issue with our LMS. I will highly appreciate your help
Thanks and regards,
Muhammad
Hi Muhammad,
Currently there isn't a fix within Storyline, as our team is continuing to investigate it and it's dependent on the LMS player as well. There are a few users who have shared ideas or fixes such as this one regarding Moodle (depends on your version of Moodle).
I think Jamie's patch (mentioned in the thread ashley links to) has actually ended up in Totara core but I haven't seen a tracker issue with a patch in Moodle for it yet and I haven't had a chance to review the patch yet either.
If someone does see this and has a moment to generate a git patch with the code and could create a tracker issue in the Moodle tracker about it that would be great.
Thanks Dan for the update!
Hi Dan, do you mean this tracker?
https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-45711
heh - I had forgotten about that one and initially I thought Jamie's patch was unrelated but if it fixes that particular issue too then that's great! - If someone could add a link to a git patch on that bug it would be really helpful.
thanks,
