Followed the directions for inserting a Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/embed/MvenWiQxJPQ?autoplay=1&rel=0 which play independently and in the insert window test link. Once Published it doesn't play when I select View Presentation nor when I zip and upload to LMS or Scorm Cloud. All I get when launching course is the Player template with navigation and title and blank screen. Any ideas. Popup blocker is off and the link is good as it plays in the test link.
When you click the View Presentation at the end of a Publish, you are viewing you published story from your local computer. Computers (for the past 5 years or so) have disallowed remote web content to be launched from local web content for security reasons. This is why your YouTube WebObject does not work when you run your story from a drive letter (local or network).
To make this work, you will need to upload your story to a web server.

You LMS is "most likely" blocking YouTube connections due to CrossDomain restrictions. I do not know about ScormCloud. For your LMS, have your programmer "allow" the media type and URL(s) on your LMS server. If your LMS server is hosted, contact that vendor to set this information to "allow".
In short, the web based server security is blocking the link.
You'll also want to check that the YouTube content isn't restricted as then it may not play in your published output as described here, and you could see the message indicating as such or just a blank screen.
If you're sure it's not restricted and it's still not playing at SCORM Cloud we'd be happy to take a look at the file if you're able to share it here, or even just a link to the YouTube video and we can test it in a new Storyline file.
I'm trying to display a vimeo video in slide as a web object (seehttp://community.articulate.com/forums/p/45350/309825.aspx#309825). This works fine when published to CD and played on my computer. However, so far no luck when trying to make it work within our LMS. (the only option working in the LMS so far is opening the vimeo video in a new window).
In chrome, I get a gray shield in the left side of the address window saying thepage includes script from unauthenticated sources. It gives me the option of going here:
If I agree to 'load unsafe script,' nothing happens, and the module closes out.
I found this forum post which suggests that my LMS might be able to 'allow' the media type and url.

Does anyone have experience successfully streaming vimeo video in slide as a web object from within an LMS? Could Dennis' solution apply to my situation?
I just answered your other post over here - but I also noticed here you mentioned working in an LMS, and you may want to test this in SCORM Cloud which is the industry standard for testing SCORM content to see how it behaves there.
Thank you for your replies. From my testing, it appears that the 'display in slide' option is not workingin either my LMS or in SCORM Cloud. However, the display in new window option does work.
I'd really appreciate suggestions for possible solutions! The 'in slide' option really would be ideal for my purposes.
Thanks - I see the same behavior in SCORM Cloud too even with using the embed code as "Insert video - from website". It seems to only be vimeo videos though and within the LMS, as the other version I shared in the other thread worked when publish to web?
I didn't get an error message as you mentioned though - just a blank page. Can you share a copy of the project here or a link to the course in SCORM Cloud?
I'm getting some issues with my scorm file on our LMS, therefore I'm trying to test it on scorm cloud.
When I click on "launch" after uploading the file on scorm cloud, my understanding is that it should run on its own until completion if no bugs are found, however in my case, a pop up window with my scorm is launched but then nothing happens, and it looks like I have to go through the course manually myself.
depending on which browser you are using with Scormcloud it may open a second window when you click launch - if you have pop up blockers active the second screen may not display. Can you disable pop ups and try again. Happy to test for you if you want to upload your file
Many thanks for your quick reply. My browser does launch a second window (see screenshot) and then the course stays static without running. Am I supposed to see it run by itself on that second window?

Just encountered this problem too. The fix I've used is to change the embed code of the YouTube video to use https instead of just http.
It has something to do with SCORM Cloud using https and not allowing unsecured content to display.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing David.
Hi,
I am having an issue with getting web-object to work on SCORM.
Tested with the SCORM Cloud and it is the same.
It works well when published to the web and hosted on Google Drive.
Any ideas ?
Lal
Hi Lal! Do you have a sample .story to share so that we could take a look and understand?
Just to say, I ran into this issue (Sept 2016) and the updating the URL to HTTPS from HTTP fix worked for me.
So Thanks David!
Nabil
Thanks for popping in to share your solution Nabil :)

Hi Wendy,
Many thanks for your quick reply. My browser does launch a second window (see screenshot) and then the course stays static without running. Am I supposed to see it run by itself on that second window?
Are you clicking the Start button? or do you have triggers set that it moves when the timeline end?
Unless I'm misunderstanding your post the course will only run through on its own if you have every slide set to progress automatically.
What trigger is attached to the start button?
When clicking on the start button, i have a jump to slide 1.2 trigger.
I have tried both, clicking on the start button and seeing whether it run by itself or leaving it untouched and none of them seem to move forward.
Should I send you the file? Is there a way to send it through another means than attaching it here?
Send me a PM via my profile and we can arrange.
Try using another browser. Also if you don’t want to upload the file here you’d need to log a support ticket with Articulate
Maybe it's fine to upload it here to make it easier. I can always delete it after. We can start with that one first.
Thanks for your help!
The course works perfectly in SCORM Cloud. I had to use the navigation you've added to move through it as the course isn't built to autorun.
I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome.
