Storyline2 HTML5 iFrame iPad

Oct 03, 2014

We have always used iFrames to embed Storyline into our courses.

After publishing a Storyline2 (imported from Storyline) course and uploading it to our servers the Storyline2 object appears really small and eventually crashes Safari, in iOS7 and iOS8. Also, we have updated Storyline2 with the new release. Seems to be something in the player_compiled file as we were using a "hack" to remove the Play button from the launch page and our developer copied this file, just like we did with Storyline, and the size was fine but ALL text was missing.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Thanks for the reply Emily.

I looked at that article prior to adding this ticket. Unfortunately, I am not seeing anything wrong with our iFrames. I will look into a little more though.

In the meantime, I have added an image of what we are seeing so maybe someone will have some ideas. The table of contents is our internal TOC so please ignore it. This is what we see on any device not using Flash.

Thank you again,

Figured it out!

It has to do with the way the div that holds the TOC and Storyline2, which is in an iFrame and it's own div. After playing a while I was able to rework the TOC div to still sit on top of the Storyline2 object but not force a resize on the object. Changes were made with positioning and a few other CSS properties.

Strange that it worked perfectly with Storyline, flash and HTML5, and with Storyline2, flash only, but it wasn't liking it in HTML5.
