I am trying to use sliders to adjust some variables and have managed to get them to show the total sum on each slide. However I know want to add the total from both slides but I seem to be getting some odd results.
I am new to Storyline and imagine I am missing something very obvious but I have exhausted all avenues!
I have uploaded the file I am working on for reference, slides 1.5 and 1.6 is where the sliders are.
I think I've got it figured out. You had the "Section1Total" variable set to change when the learner clicked the Header. I've changed it to when "Slide6Total" changes. See if that works for you.
I tested this earlier today and either I wasn't concentrating properly or something has changed in my Storyline but when I test the file now, the slide 5 and slide 6 totals do not add up correctly.
I have tried using your file and amending my original to match yours but neither seem to work, are you able to help me out and test on your original file?
You're right. There is a problem. It is updating the total on the second slide whenever the slider moves and doesn't reset. I'll dig into it some more.
I added a calculate button on slide 1.6. That was the only way that I could figure to add the sections only once. Another option would be to have the section total on another slide where the variable would be calculated.
Thanks for looking. The submit/calculate button works well, however when I change a slider after hitting calculate the total is incorrect. I know this is something to do with the fact you have to reset the variable but I'm struggling to make it work. I don't want another button that is something like a recalculate but that is the only thing I can think of currently. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks for all your help so far, really appreciate it,
I think I've got it now. I added a second trigger to the button. It sets the "Section1Total" to 0 when the user clicks the button if the "Section1Total" is greater than 0. The new trigger needs to go first, trigger order is an important part getting triggers to work properly.

Hi Cary
Just tested it myself and works a treat, thanks so much for replying!
