I have installed the last update a few days ago. Now I have big problems with the timing. It looks like completely different when I use the preview button than it is in the published version.
I wonder if you are viewing the published version as HTML5, which might mean that some of the animations are behaving differently than they do in the preview. I know I've experienced this before.
I am not viewing the published version. When I do the timing (therfore I use the "TIMELINE" at the bottom of the screen) everything looks good. When I start the "PREVIEW" (at the top of the screen) the timing is wrong. If I publish the file the timing is ok. During the work I often use the Preview but that is not possible at the moment.
I know a few times we've seen discussions of similar here in the forums, and it's something we've shared with our QA team in regards to how the preview button on the bottom of the timeline works vs. the preview button in the top of the Articulate interface.
When you're ready to test the published output as well you'll also want to make sure you're doing so in the intended publish environment as described here.
Hi Ashley, thanks for your help. The published output is working well as before. It's only the preview-button in the top of Articulate interface that's not working like it should.
I think that's the opposite of what we've heard before - that the top preview button works the same as the published output, but that the timeline preview towards the bottom of the interface doesn't match with a bit of a lag in starting.
Is this a recent change for you with the latest update to Storyline? If so, I'd look first at repairing Storyline in case something occurred during the update and then I'd also want to take a look at the file in question. You can share a file here in the forums by using the "add attachment" button.
Hi Karin. I did a test with your .story on update 10 and update 11. I noticed that the narration coincided with the bullet points in the timeline preview/playback, as well as in the Slide Preview from the top tab. It was the same in the published output, as well. The only thing I noticed that might be off is that the 3rd and 4th bullet points animate in at the same time, as opposed to bullets 1 and 2 which are in sync with the narration.
Is that the main issue, the last 2 bullet points, or were you noticing something more dramatic?

I would just rely on the preview for timings in that case, if this is what reflects your published output best it would make sense.
