Trial Ver 2 overriding file type Ver 1 after download.  How do I change my files back to Ver 1?  Desparate!

Version 1 is no longer on my computer… Does this mean I have to remove Ver 2 then download Ver 1 again?

Will Ver 2 revert back to Ver 1 after the trial version is over?

Is there any way to make a Ver 2 file backwards compatible with Ver 1? That is can I convert a Ver 2 to Ver 1?

Thank you for your help.

Cheers, Sherry.

Hello Sherry!

Any files created or edited in Storyline 2 cannot be opened again in Storyline 1, as it is not backward compatible. If you converted your SL 1 files to SL2, it should have made an automatic back up version of the SL1 file, with Backup.story in the file name. You can open these in SL1, but it will be the original file, with no updates made in SL2.

You will need to download Storyline 1 on your computer,  and uninstall the trial.

You can right click on the file, and use the Open with option and search for Storyline 1 on your computer. You can also set Storyline 1 as the default to open these files from now on.
