Triggers, media and layers problem

There are two settings that will help you,.

On each layer, click the gear icon and click the setting to "Hide other slide layers." This will automatically stop the audio on one layer when the user opens another layer. You shouldn't need triggers to stop the media if you use this setting. Then also decide if you want the layer to always resume from the beginning, or to pick up in the middle if the user leaves then comes back.

Do you have audio on the base layer? A third setting in those layer settings is to pause the timeline of the base layer.

If you still find audio playing on top of other audio, assume that a layer that wasn't hidden. Usually setting Hide this Layer triggers solve that problem.

Unfortunately "Hide other slide layers" doesn't work.

I selected "Pause timeline of base layer" and this partially solved my problem. Audio stops when I open other layers but if I keep opening them (especially if I do this very fast), audio will still overlap. Is it a bug?

BTW, yes.
I have audio on the base layer too.

I've seen that on my projects as well--that with repeated opening and closing of layers, the audio will begin go overlap. Judicious 'hide layer' triggers prevents this from happening unless the user goes wild with clicking layer buttons. So, I've decided that it is not worth it to invest the time to solve this issue as it would be a very low frequency event with actual learners. It may be a "bug' but not a bug that would occur during any intended use of the software.
