Turning already built pages into layers

Jul 21, 2021

Greetings, I recorded my screen of me doing a multi-step process and turned it into step-by-step slides and Try mode steps and saved it as a new scene. It is 14 slides long. Is there any way to turn those 14 slides into a single page with multiple layers that does the same thing? (allowing the student to complete each step).

I'm asking because I have several of these multi-step Try Mode scenes that all work within one lesson of my course. It's getting pretty complicated and confusing especially when looking at it in Story View.

Thanks

Dont know if this is what you are after but, try? separate the story files and add them as separate sections and separate blocks in Rise.

Two things you gain from that, Rise functions as the main menu system for your "try me" storyline blocks and you can easily add surrounding text and info to the various sections.

On another point of my original question. I've changed the trigger on each page from moving to each page at the end of the timeline TO the student clicking next. However, it continues to the next page at the end of the timeline anyway. Any thoughts on what else I need to do to make it necessary to click the Next button to proceed?

Thanks

Hi, Michael!

When you check the Slide Properties in Story View, what do you have selected for Slide advances?

If it currently says Automatically, you'll want to change it to By user.

If this is not the issue, would you feel comfortable sharing your .story file either publicly here or privately through a support case so we can see what's going on?

Thanks Maria, that solved my issue of stopping the automatic jump to the next page. I still think I need to try and clean up the nightmare way I have this course laid out though. Since I am working on a government course I need to find out if it is okay to send it to you as a support case. I will let you know.

Hey Michael - did you find a solution on this?  I was looking for an answer to the same question and did find a solution but it is quite long winded - basically exporting the clips from a fine tuning window and then reinserting them onto layers so they are not individual slides.

If you had any less onerous solution I would love to know what it is.

Thanks in advance
