Unpredictable states
Feb 27, 2019
Hi everyone, I've got a slide that is giving me a headache. I have 4 buttons that animate (wipe) to longer boxes when you click them. Each button has an icon at the top but the longer boxes do not, so ideally when you click a button the larger box wipes on top of the small box and the icon wipes away with it. My issue is that the icons seem to be popping in early during the transition. I don't see the problem when I preview the slide only when I publish. FYI I am required to publish to IE11 using Flash with HTML fallback. If you would like to check out the issue I've attached the slide or you can see it here https://360.articulate.com/review/content/316d7efa-a81b-426c-b2af-8c0cff83607a/review
Try going back and forth between the buttons several times to see the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I didn't have to time to dig through your demo, but my guess is that the timing between layers is causing some issues.
I redid the interaction that may work better for you and it works for me in IE11 in Flash.
Here's a tutorial that created to show some ideas that may streamline what you're doing. https://360.articulate.com/review/content/e9df1538-e5e8-4427-bb5a-dc6cd3bdccce/review
I looked at the file. There are a lot of duplicate shapes and redundant states which is probably what is causing the issue you see. Here is a slide where I cleaned up the triggers and layers a bit.
You'll notice that the normal state has the icon so the other states don't need them, as well.
Wow Tom, thanks for the help! The states work great now. I do have a tendency to overcomplicate things, but removing all the layers and adding the animation inside the states works beautifully. I'll definitely be using this trick again soon. Thanks again!
Glad it worked out.
