I've got a question about installing updates. I got a message when I opened my Storyline that a new version is available, I downloade this (277MB) does this mean that he just makes a complete new installation? or...? Is the latest version then: 2.0.185.0? Because that's what I have downloaded today.
When you download an update, it's a new install - and the previous update will be removed. The current version and update number of Storyline 2 is Storyline 2 Update 2 - Build 1411.210 . You can always check which one you're using by clicking on the Help tab and "About Articulate Storyline". Also, you can see all the update numbers and the fixes included here.
I've updated my version today and it's asking to activate with my serial number (30 days left in your free trial). Shouldn't it have that information already without me having to go through the process again?
You'll need to choose the option to activate with your serial number, and then when you choose that it should be pre-populated with your serial number. If you don't see the serial number and you no longer have access to it, you'll want to connect with our Support team to have it resent to you.
Thanks for your answer Ashley, the update worked fine. As your replied tot Roger, I had to click the activate button, and indeed, my serial number was already completed, just needed to confirm that!
Unfortunately my version fails at this point and asks for manual activation (can't connect to activation server - firewall probably) so I then have to send an email to request an activation code. Again. Not impressed.
It leads me to an English version as well, but if you're IP address is being recognized as a French IP, we'll show you the article in that language. Not to worry you can always adjust the language within our articulate.com site (not ELH) by scrolling to the bottom and using the language selector:

Hi Roger,
Here are directions on how to manually activate - and our team is generally pretty quick at turning these around. :-)
I know how to activate manually; my point is that it should be unnecessary because I have already done this before and it wastes my time.
Hi Roger,
I'm sorry that this is taking extra time due to the manual activation, but since the update acts as a new installation, it needs to be reactivated.
If you need any additional assistance please let us know.

It looks okay in the code:
Please correct it so that it leads to the English page.
