When I preview a video using the controls below the timeline area, and I pause the video to add a pop up, arrow, etc., the video goes back to the beginning on my screen instead of displaying the video at the point at which I paused. Is there a solution to this?
I just tested this in SL 1 and SL2 - and I'm not able to replicate the behavior. I can use the timeline play and pause buttons while editing the slide and the video continues from where I left off - even after I've added a shape to the slide - which is added to the timeline at whatever point the playhead is at.
When working locally, the timeline pause button doesn't work, but if I place the playhead at a particular point the video frame stays at that point. I may have to try the repair. I appreciate your help.
I'm currently facing the same issue in SL360 - my video plays just fine, SL's controls work, playhead stops when I hit pause - however, as soon as I hit pause, all I can see is the first frame of my video, regardless of the position of the playhead. Manually changing the position of the playhead without playing the video also doesn't work. I want to place and time some additional shapes on my video, which kinda seems impossible without the ability to display a frame in the middle of the video.
I have the latest version of SL360 installed and am working locally, so that can't be it. Any ideas?
We have both of those scenarios reported to our team - so we'll keep you posted here.
In the meantime, you could look at inserting cue points when you reach that video point and then you'll be able to add items on the timeline based on the cue points.
I took a look at both of the issues reported 3 months ago, and the one issue where "Timeline Preview does not update to video frame when moving playhead" has been fixed in Update 27 of Storyline 360. We're now on Storyline 360, build 3.29.19305.0 - do you know what update you're using?
The other issue is still under review with our team, so we'll share an update here as soon as we're able.
This update fixes the issue when previewing the slide stage using the timeline controls and then pausing the playback, a video on the slide would briefly show its first frame before switching back to the current frame on the timeline.
The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.

Can you confirm that you're working locally as describe here and then it may be worth conducting the repair.
Thanks, Ashley,

Hi Ashley, Has there been anymore update on this as I'm experiencing the same issue with S360.
