Videos in Storyline

I was wondering wheter you can place any other video formats besides swf?
I am coping mainly with flv and mp4 files.
Preferably, the video shouldbe placed in the player space (as a logo for example - to make it look more Presenter like).
If not, do you have any ideas and suggestions as to how to deal with this problem? or if placing the video on the slide, how to save as much space as possible + preserve sidebar with menu (it is obligatory)?
Looking forward for your suggestions

Have you seen this Tutorial - as the formats you want are both natively supported as well as .swf.
