Does anyone know how to mute the volume in the player using the keyboard? My client requires that there is a voice over but we must offer a way to turn off the voice over with the volume control in the player and the keyboard. I was thinking of using the M key to turn off the volume. How can I make it do that?
If I use the pause media, it pauses the entire slide (animations stops too) and it would only pause it for that one slide, of course. What is ideal is if the learner shuts off the volume from slide 1, let's say, it will stay off until the end of the module or when they want it back on.
Using the Pause media trigger should only pause the media that is assigned. It should not pause the slide timeline or any objects with animations. Is the audio for the voice over a separate file from other content in the slide?
Would you be able to create 2 scenes, one with audio, and one without, and let the user choose on a Starting slide whether or not they want audio? You could use buttons to branch them to the correct scene.
Oh I see what you mean now with Pause media. Each slide has its own voice over file and it is on the timeline. so the pause trigger will only work in that one slide. when the slide moves, the learner has to trigger the pause media again. maybe the second option will work, but I have to look at what's involved. I was hoping I could offer a keyboard function to turn off the volume throughout the whole thing and turn it back on again when the learner wants the voiceover again.
Yes the pause media would only work slide to slide. To do the second option, you could just copy the course into a new (duplicate) scene and remove the audio all together. I guess it will depend if you need them to be able to turn it back on or not.
It may be possible to do this with JavaScript, but I am no expert with that so I will defer to the community for other ideas.

Hello Todd!
You may be able to use the trigger to Stop media, or pause media when user presses a key M.
