I've reviewed some of the many posts about how to build timers, but all I really want to do is call attention to the elapsed time counter that comes with the results slide on storyline quizzes, by including it in my results slide feedback.
I figure there must be a variable controlling the timer even though it appears on the player, right? What is the name of it? I'd like to call the results of that variable (the elapsed quiz time) to appear on the slide as part of the results slide text.
Unfortunately, the results slide timer is not controlled by a variable. There may be a way to build a custom timer using variables, but I will defer to the community for assistance there.
I build timers using silent audio files. You can make the file as long as you need, start it with a button or another event, then trigger required events when the audio file completes. You can have multiple timers running at the same time.
Use two audio files of a known length that trigger each other on completion, increment a variable on completion.
The Incremented variable will indicate how much time has elapsed. Set another variable to some value to stop the cycle after so many cycles have completed.
Thanks Allen, that sounds like it would work for me! I especially appreciate the tip about the master slide. That would make the workaround so much easier. Thanks - I'll give it a try!

Hi, Fiona!

Thanks Christie - too bad!

Thanks for sharing your suggestion, Allen! Hope that is of assistance to you, Fiona! :)

Place the routine on the master slide, you will have access to it on each slide.

You are welcome. Sometimes the challenge of work-arounds is actually fun.
