There is a Flash-coded video on youtube I need to add to my course. I did that using "Insert/Video/Video from Website". Works great on screen, but does not load on iPad.
Same video loads fine on iPad if accessed directly on youtube site and also from a website where it's linked and embedded.
Why would it load fine except in my course on the iPad? Thanks for your help.
If you use the Insert > Video > Video from Website option, YouTube videos won't work in HTML5 or the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad, because they're wrapped in a Flash control.
If you'll be delivering your Storyline courses via HTML5 or the Articulate Mobile Player, add YouTube videos via Insert > Web Object.
I agree, sounds like it may be. If you have permission to use the video, you could always try recording the video in Storyline. If you do that, you could just insert it into your slide, rather than inserting it as a web object.
I have the video locally - but it's over 24MB even after SL's compression, so I was looking for a better way to add it to my course. If I use it locally, the screen with the video takes a few seconds to load, whereas the other methods load immediately. Thank you.

Hi there Richard!
There are two methods for inserting YouTube videos into Storyline.
Let me know if that works for your project :)
Thanks!
Hi Christine,
I had originally tried Inserting Web Object but got this error message:
This content cannot be displayed in a frame
To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame.
What you can try:
Open this content in a new window
I am supposing this is an issue that can only be addressed by the publisher of the video.
Good morning Richard,
I agree, sounds like it may be. If you have permission to use the video, you could always try recording the video in Storyline. If you do that, you could just insert it into your slide, rather than inserting it as a web object.
Is that something you'd be able to try?
Thanks!
Good morning Christine!
I have the video locally - but it's over 24MB even after SL's compression, so I was looking for a better way to add it to my course. If I use it locally, the screen with the video takes a few seconds to load, whereas the other methods load immediately. Thank you.
