Base layer not showing
Apr 13, 2024
Hey all, for some reason, my base layer is not appearing in the other layers I create when making new slides. I attached one that I'm having trouble with, and can't figure out why it's not working. This has been happening recently within a SL file where the base layer IS showing on other, previously-created slides. Any help would be most appreciated!

Angie, somewhere along the way, a solid fill was applied to the slide layer background.
Try this:
1. Open the layer.
2. Right-click anywhere on the blank white slide background and select Format Background.
3. On the Fill tab of the Format Background dialog box, select No fill.
you have a problem with the background fill color of the layer
choose your layer, then "Format Background"
then set the background to "No fill"
Update: there seems to be a glitch with the current version 3.86 - sometimes (?) the "no fill" option is not visible
if this happens, close and reopen the setting
OMGosh, thank you!!! I'm glad it was such a simple fix.
Thanks for sharing your solutions Steve and Jürgen! And I'm glad that helped, Angie!
For future reference, this post is about controlling how the base is seen (or not): https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/can-t-see-the-base-from-a-layer-or-is-it-just-dimmed-is-that-what-you-want-here-s-how-to-control-base-visibility
Had the same issue - and this worked! Thanks. I was stumped!
