Best Elearning Platform

Nov 24, 2014

Hi all

Im new to this forum - and to developing elearning!  I'm essentially a service provider, but I want to use my knowledge to get across information more effectively than doing a lot of face to face with clients going over the same information.

I have the content in 6 Powerpoint modules, and  I'm planning to use Articulate to 'finess' the content, add narration and some audio files for case studies.

What I'm not sure about is whether I need some sort of distribution platform to sell the course, or whether there is a simple way I can load the content to my website, and manage membership and payment.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Many thanks

Susanne

hi Susanne,

there are several ways you can use to sell your courses online:

1) a third-party platforms like udemy, coursera

2) use SaaS LMS ( like efront, docebo, litmos) There is no need to have your own website. LMS is installed on vendor's website.

3) use your own website (what is better as you don't have to share your profit with anyone else )

To use your website as course selling platform you need to install LMS (Learning Management System) that perfectly suits the needs of your CMS. To choose the LMS right, pay a particular attention to such criteria as the LMS pricing strategy and ecommerce tools integration.

For example, if you run your website on Joomla there is JoomlaLMS.

If you website is on WordPress - try LearnDash or Sensei.

If you chose Drupal as your CMS - Origno LMS can be the one.

Plus, the CMs platforms like Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal are open-sourced and have a number of extensions, plugins and modules you can use for building a multifunctional website. So, you will have not just platform for selling courses but a website you always dream about.
