Help! I've been trying to make a downward spiral in PowerPoint. This is the best I've come up with but it is flat and the perspective is all wrong. I need a repeating circular shape that extends downward -- to illustrate repeating downward cycles. I've attached a ppt file with this image.
I'd be so grateful if anyone help me make a better spiral?
You all are great! It looks like a judicious use of gradients is key. Graham, I've not been able to open yours yet, but will keep trying. I'm getting an intermittent error script when I try to open the files. And Stephanie, that is a neat trick to add the axial arrow to give the illusion of depth. I've played with that some more to add animation. I'm liking this effect.

Meryam;
Is this close? If you right click on the object and go to Format Shape you can play with the 3-d format and 3-d rotation.

Not sure if this would do the trick but here's one other option.
Angie;
I like yours a lot. You do really good work in ppt.

Angie's made me relook at mine. Here is an updated version.

Thanks, Tim!!! Your spiral looks great, too. Really nice work.
Tim and Angie,
Those are both much better than what I had, and you've given me some great ideas to work with. Thanks!
Hi Meryem. Here are a couple more options for you (done in PPT 2010).
Stephanie
Here are two more spirals.
He's another example

Hi Sheryl,

Gotcha! In that case, I would recommend checking out this tutorial I created awhile back: Guide to Creating Illustrations in PowerPoint for People Who Don’t Know How to Draw. I hope that helps! :)
