Changing States with Variables Creating a "Flicker"
Aug 19, 2016
Good Afternoon, Heroes!
I've been working on an interaction for eLH Challenge #1 (a little late to the game I know), and have run into this peculiar challenge. Users are given the opportunity to select a flight (like an avatar) on the first slide, which updates a variable that impacts 2 onscreen components in the content slides. The triggers are set to occur when the timeline starts in the content slides.
The challenge is that the objects on the content slide flicker as they change between the Normal state and the triggered state. This does not occur in the preview, but occurs when output to CD or web (in a browser and Articulate Player).
Here is a link to the output: http://elearningalchemy.com/dartflightscomparison/story.html

I should add, the items that "flicker" are the red flight shape on the grid (but, only on the first slide for some reason). And, the word next to the red square on the legend above the grid that appears when you start interacting with the course.
Turns out just changing the triggers that change the objects state based on the variable to be triggered by the objects timeline instead of the slides timeline solves the issue... wow - that's a mouthful.
