We're about to roll out a new LMS and we're researching cloud based storage to house our courses, as well as documents, etc.
With our old LMS we had an internal server, but that doesn't work for us moving forward, because you have to be connected to the VPN or network to access those files. We have users of the LMS who don't have access to our internal network.
Some of the options we've been discussion are Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, and so on.
What recommendations, cautions, or suggestions do you have?
Still looking for ideas! As far as I can tell, cloud storage alone won't work if we have anything other than documents. I think we need a content server or content management provider, but I know next to nothing about this area.
I have no idea how long you have been around and your budget. But I would consider Amazon WS or someone like RackSpace. I am not sure if Box or Dropbox is going to be suitable, unless I have completely misunderstood your question.
Would you mind saying what you are trying to house? Your course material created using articulate or normal documents etc? If you have been around a while you can share your URL, only if you want to.
