Just wondered if it was possible to add cue points in a screen recording where you want the voiceover to kick in. This is after conducting a screen recording then voicing over straight into the slide?
Hey Alan. It looks like Allison may have answered a similar question for you a while back in this discussion thread. Did you try this out and run into a problem? Or are you looking for new information on this topic? I just don't want to point you to the same resource if you've already reviewed that!
Hi Trina, yes thank you I have located Allison's response and will utilise that. Do you have a recommended way of conducting voice overs, whether that be straight into the slides or record externally and import. In addition to this a way of making screen recording in high res, again is recording directly from the storyline function the best way or recording externally to import in?
Hi Alan. Glad I was able to point you back to Allison's advice on this topic and I hope you found it helpful!
In terms of recording audio narration right in Storyline 360 versus importing audio that's been recorded externally, I'd say it depends on your project. If you don't have a lot of lead time, you don't think there will be a lot of changes to the audio, or if you just want to keep things simple, recording right in Storyline 360 is easiest.
If you want to have more control over removing background noise, "uhs" and "ums" or if you just want the option of doing some more robust editing of your audio, you might find recording your audio in an external app like Audacity is a better option for you.

In terms of screen recording, I think you'll find it's easiest to just record those right in Storyline. We've got some good pointers for recording high-res screencasts in this article, A Useful Technique for Recording HIgh-Resolution Screencasts in Storyline 360. And my fellow Community Manager, Nicole, shared some more great tips in this article, Creating Software Sims: Setting Your Recording Size & Area. I hope you'll find these helpful, too.
