Thanks, Darryl. I'm actually building a few theme-based projects with maps such as these as the landing page and students would collect tokens at each point of achievement. I see a lot of possibilities for bringing more game elements into course designs with maps like these (and other game elements of course, according to emerging research). For example, I'm building a citizenship course and rather than use bullets and tabs to show topics, I'm laying out the course on a map as a journey with various milestones and achievement points. Here is an interesting infographic on the subject.
Will share more once I make more progress. :-) If you'd like to collaborate on something we could certainly begin a conversation
Thank you Rachmat. For the purposes of designing a simple e-learning course with two or three levels, this would serve but I do build various customizations based on clients' needs and the levels/topics of the course.
Hey Hannah, sorry I missed this somehow. For the above design I used photoshop but depending on the complexity needed, I sometimes use other tools such as powerpoint, storyline 360, or other

Nice work, Maxwell! Thanks for sharing :)
Great stuff - in what ways do you think this would be integrated into a course design for higher ed?
Thanks, Allison. It's my pleasure,

Maxwell,
This sounds really interesting – I am interested as to how this concept may be used at a post-grad level, have you had much experience with that?
Collaboration sounds awesome !

Hi Maxwell! Your map looks great! I'm curious, What programs are your favorite to use when creating games for e-learning?
