Innovative course menus
Apr 05, 2017
Hi everyone
I am about to begin designing a new course. I work for a luxury tour wholesaler and this course will be about our South America products. I am in the process of trying to design some mock-up menus, course landing pages etc.
I've been doing some research and looking for inspiration around the web of innovative course menus, as I really want to try and make this course a bit of a 'journey'. I've been looking here.
I'd love to know - does anyone have examples of their own innovative course menus?
Furthermore, I'd love to create something like this where the menu is a map of South America, and the learner must 'unlock' areas to learn more.
Thanks

Hi! No suggestions but following. I am about to create a series of courses for a GIS technology implementation and I am also thinking of using a map theme.
I want to create a menu like this - using the parallax / scrolling effect. WOW!

Hi Troy,
Sliders are your way forward!
Plan out which images you want to use, then use a photo editing tool (i.e. photoshop) to separate the background from the foreground.
Create 2 sliders, replace one thumb on the slider with the image of the background, the other with the foreground. Get them positioned so they look right and then trigger them to change based on the others value so they run in parallax.
You've now got 2 variables to play around with and trigger events based on their values!
Hope this helps!

Hi Darren,
Thanks for the tips! :) I'm struggling at the moment with sliders as when I put my selected images in the thumb of the slider, they go all pixelated and loose their quality? I've tried to shrink the size of the thumb but still goes pixelated.
Any tips?
Thanks
