I created a course where people can self-assess their needs. The client would like the results to be sent to the users so that they can compare their results once they retake the self-assessment several weeks later. We are not using a LMS, it's an individual client.
There is nothing built into Storyline to do this, however you can create a workable option using Javascript. Take a look at the example I have attached. The user can enter their email into the field provided, then when they click on the Email Results button, an email will open with all of the pre-populated information.
Keep in mind that you cannot use the pre-generated variables Storyline creates for its results slides (I think it is because of the . separator). So I have two triggers on the results slide which sets my custom variables at the start of the timeline. If you have any questions please let me know.
Helene, you may be able to embed a web object in Storyline that links to a Google form. You can set the Google form to email the responses to the user so they'll receive a copy. Might be a simpler route than Javascript (but that probably depends on what you're comfortable with)
oooh interesting April! I have never done any Javascript coding, but it's good to know it can be done. I will try the first simple examples for my client.

That is exactlty what I was looking for, thank you! I have tried to do it myself, but without any Javascript...

April, would users need to have a google docs account?
I am also looking for a way for self-assessment feedback to go to the user when there is no LMS set up. Thanks
Nancy
Eric, this was very helpful indeed. Would you happen to have an example of JavaScript to use for emailing survey results to a user?
