Recommendation for swf editor

Feb 18, 2011

I'm looking for an easy to use but inexpensive swf editor.  Any recommendations?

Hi Shelly,

Really depends on what you want to do with it. You mean something to create custom SWF interactions and animations? If so, Swishmax is one of the oldest SWF generators on the market. There's a pretty big community following and it's generally considered to be easier to use than Flash. Swish offers some features that Flash doesn't, but you'll hit a technical ceiling if you're looking to do some really sophisticated coding (from your description I'm guessing this won't be a limiting factor)

I haven't tried the new Sothink tool (though I have on occassion used the decompiler). This one is less expensive but will likely be limited for creation of new SWF content:
