Reset Pick Many to Original State More than One Attempt
Dec 03, 2015
I have a a pick many interaction. When an object is selected it changes states. I want the learner to have more than one attempt. I used this tutorial as a guide but it was a no go for my pick many interaction. Any other suggestions?
I do want the learner to be able to come back and the initial state (normal) to be displayed. When you come back to it the selected state remains. Also, when I customized the Try Again layer, after clicking submit, the Try Again layer would never show up. I have never had that happen before. New one for me.

The one using how to set up the try again and reset according to the link, goes in an endless circle.
Hey Alanda, did you get through this? Find a solution? If not I can upload a revision of your file. Since it's been four days I thought you might have figured it out by now.
Hi Alanda,
Its quite simple. I can do it for you. Just provide me the file with only one pick many interaction. You may follow it to other interactions you have.
Could someone list the steps needed to "reset" a pick many question that has already been view, answered and submitted, to be "tried again" if they fail the quiz the first time through.
Upon retry in my course the variable does not "reset" and it will not allow the learner to retake the question (the pop-up appears saying they have picked too many choices as soon as the learner tries to pick any, not allowing the learner to make any choices).
Hi Jonathon!
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look?
Hi Jonathan,
Thats quite simple! On the try again button, set all the associated variables to their default value on click. Make sure that the reset result and jump to slide variables are at the last. It will surely work.
Could you explain these steps a bit more. I tried adding a trigger for resetting variables when the "retry quiz" button was clicked on the results page, but it didn't' work for me.
Thank you!!!!
Hi Jonathan,
please see the picture below.
First reset all your associated variables,
then follow the reset results and jump to slide triggers.
Make sure that your slide properties are - reset to initial state. Refer the image below.
I'll be waiting for your response.
I was able to get it to work by adding a variable.... when timeline starts set variable to "0". for each of the questions slides. thanks for your help.
Hello, I have a similar issue with quiz questions. I have review content material review session. When I revisit a page, and try out the choices-everything freezes. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Hello Indrani - Looks like you've reached out in a few threads, and I know you mentioned that you could not share your file in the forums. Be sure to reach out to our support engineers here with the details.
Thank you, Leslie.

I have had the same issue as Indrani. I wasn't able to get the variable to work for me. Any additional help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Are u having problem with the 'retry' button? I could not open your file, as I have Storyline 2. What specific problems are you having? It has been a while, and I forget what the issue was.
Hi Eileen
you don't have any questions selected in your result slide
