Looking for recommendations - I currently use Storyline 2, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for our e-learning output and my company has no plans to upgrade anytime soon. So I'm looking for software that can punch up interactions, fonts, graphics, animations, videos, audio, etc. and that can be inserted into Storyline. I would love to have some cool new tools in my arsenal.
My company is VERY conservative regarding security and access - we have no access to YouTube, for example. And if I wanted to download a sound effect or free font or graphic - forget about it. I'm hoping upon recommendation from someone here - my company will open up some of these tools.
There are a ton of different tools out there so it really depends on what you want to do and how much time you are willing to invest in gaining proficiency in the tools. For me, Abobe Creative Suite is a must, but there is a learning curve for each of the tools in the suite.
I use PowToon and Sparkol Videoscribe in almost every course I build. I tend to use Videoscribe for explaining "concepts", and PowToon for "scenarios".
Both VERY easy to use, (but of course, then you have to learn about design, fonts etc.), and both relatively inexpensive.
I work in a somewhat similar restricted environment. Two supplemental software programs I use a lot are TechSmith Camtasia and TechSmith SnagIt. https://www.techsmith.com/
Thanks for your input! I have managed to get approval for Powtoon and have used it several times recently. Really hoping I could add Adobe Creative Suite to my toolbox soon.
I need to check out Sparkol Videoscribe now - it sounds interesting!
