Using an external quiz making application with LMS
Any advice on using an external quiz making application to integrate with our LMS. Our LMS capabilities don’t support what we are looking for we want something a little more complex.

Hi Rebecca. Could you tell us a bit more about what quizzing capabilities you need that your LMS doesn't currently support?

H5P.org has quite some nice features

Hi both, the LMS we are currently using doesn't support any sort of quiz functionality at the moment. I want to incorporate quiz style assessments into my modules so that users can't progress to the next step without completing a certain pass rate. It also needs to save users progress for next time they login and only allow them a set amount of attempts. Hope this helps! :)

What LMS is it ? Does it support Scorm ? Then you could add Storyline or Rise Scorm and make quizzes inthere. If you can embed HTML H5P is great.

I am using Storyline for quizzes at the moment, but the LMS will be used by hundreds of people so unless we purchase licenses for everyone then this will limit who can do what etc.. Was just wondering if anyone can advise on a quiz app they may use :)

You donot need licenses of Storyline for every student. You create a quiz in Storyline, publish it as Scorm, put that on the LMS and each and every student that has access to the LMS can take that quiz.

Sorry should have been more clear - I know the users don't have to have a license to access once SCORMed however we will have multiple users creating quizzes (potentially like 100?!)

Aha... then you need H5P... or a dynamical Storyline. In fact i made courses where users can do things like this in a dynamic Scormed published Storyline online. Would love to help you get that done. Actually i made a game recently where a admin selects some choices....these are set externally in a database and then the players can run the game with the settings.

I know i have all elements to make a dynamic Storyline that is editable online even in Scorm. Checking if i can show some of that...
Here you see such a sample.

Love to help you get something like this working. - CarlosKiyan-TsuCommunity Member
Hi Rebeca
When choosing an external quiz-making tool, I think it is essential to consider if it will support the new standard that will replace scorm in the future. That is CMI5.
If you want to migrate to a Learning Record Store in the future, you will not have any problem. Here is a list of some examples
