Using the dial as a timer...
Mar 08, 2017
I had my first experience working with the dial feature and found it to be not what I was expecting at all. I get that this is supposed to be for "dialing" things but with a little work it could be used as a timer and how I used it really helped to make the slide more fun with the timer ticking down.
So... I wasn't able to get it to really work. The numbers in the toolbar for the feature made no sense to me. I don't understand why it doesn't start at the 12 o-clock position by default and I don't know how I can effectively create a 30-second or 60-second timer.
Is there anyone who has mastered this and can share their knowledge?

Yes, you can use dials to create timers or clocks, see the last example here. Maybe this tutorials here helps to explain the dial parameters.
Joseph,
If you are trying to create a timer, there is a much easier way to to that with a simple wipe animation set to a specific duration. https://community.articulate.com/series/45/articles/animated-countdown-timers-in-elearning
