Weird GIF behavior in layer

Hello,
I produced a couple of GIFs for use in a module recently, but I'm having some trouble getting them to work - specifically in layers.
Basically, the GIF plays normally the first time it's opened in a layer. However, it only shows the last frame of the GIF when returning to the layer. I have the layer set to hide when the timeline ends and reset to initial state when revisiting, but it appears as though the GIF is saving/remember that it's already played.
Based on the setup of the slide, I produced the GIFs to only play once, so it appears as though it's prioritizing this behavior despite the layer closing and resetting.
Any suggestions to get GIF to player everytime the layer is opened?
Thanks,
Ian

I figured out a solution. I'll leave this here in case anyone runs into this issue in the future.
I set the default state of the GIF to hidden and have it change state to normal at the beginning of the layer. I included a second trigger to hide the GIF at the end of the layer.
