Restricted and Free Navigation Modes in Rise 360
Jul 02, 2021
Hi,
Can anyone help in understanding the below scenario?
In Rise course, if I use the Free navigation mode, the Search option can be toggled. Please see the attached screen.
However, if the navigation mode is Restricted and the sidebar is open, the Search option is not seen. Please see the attached screen.
In a course, I wish to have a quiz at the end. To require learners complete the lessons in order before taking the quiz, I wish to have the Restricted mode with the sidebar open. Would it affect the learning experience if the Search option is not there?
Thanks,
Paramita

Could anyone help with this, please.
Hi Paramita! Disabling the Search feature would not affect the learner experience. That feature allows learners to search for a keyword within the course, but it is not necessary for learning.
If you want to require learners to complete the lessons in order before taking the quiz, then restricted navigation is your best bet!
Thank you!
A feature request is to have the option to set the free or restricted on chapter level not only on course level. We have seen several cases already where we want free for the information parts and restricted for exercises but we want them in one file.
Hey there Internal Training! Thanks for your feedback. I've added your thoughts as a feature request and will update you here in case we make any changes that help with custom navigation settings!
