Just starting to play with Rise. I'd like to embed a .pdf workbook for learners to print and use as they work through their lessons. I cannot see how to upload a pdf. Is this possible
Hello! I used the attachment function to upload a pdf, however a user approached me that he is not able to open it and needs further permissions. Is this the case, because I saved the pdf on my computer and not somewhere on a website? Is there anything else I need to take care of? So far I'm not aware that the pdf is somehow restricted..
It sounds like you did everything correctly! I suspect this learner has browser restrictions that prevent them from downloading files. Ask this learner to open the course in a different web browser or in an incognito browser window.
If they still cannot download the PDF file, please have them take a full screen screenshot of the error message they're seeing. I'd love to have a closer look at that!
Hi, I have a quick question about this functionality. I would like my learners to upload a PDF file as an activity. I know how to use the block, but I do not want it for downloading a PDF file, but to allow the learners to upload.

Hi Nia!
Thanks for including those screenshots – that helps a lot! Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when naming a PDF:
If you want the PDF file name in the Rise 360 lesson to match the downloaded file name, use this naming convention:
Ethics-False-Assurance-Reflection-Questions.pdf
Give that a try, and let me know if it helps you!
Hi Alyssa!
Thank you.
Is there any way that we can keep it as
Ethics
Hi Nia!
Do you want to remove all other words and title it just "Ethics"? Yes, you can do that! Just use this naming convention:
Ethics.pdf
Hi Alyssa,
The client wants to naming of the document to be the following:
Ethics
Ok, thanks Nia! Let me know if you need any more help with this.
This was from 3 years ago and I still can't see it as an option in Rise. Am I missing something?
Hi there, Jess. Use one of these two ways to include a PDF in your Rise 360 course:

Hi,
Rise does not have the functionality for learners to upload files into the course.
If you are using a LMS, it may have the ability for a learner to upload a file that is sent to a course instructor.
Hi Karl, Thank you for your quick reply?
