When I download this Storyline 2 Download, it has a .story extension. I don't know how to use this on my window's computer. I am very new to PowerPoint. Any suggestions for me?
Super helpful Brandon - thank you. I've just been experimenting with different ways to provide quick reference type resources and this might be just the ticket. Thanks again for sharing your work!!
Awesome! This is just what I needed to recap responsibilities for my Heat Illness Prevention training. Easy for me to customize and straightforward info for the User. Thanks Brandon!!
I love this too. I am trying to require all boxes to be checked before proceeding. I added a next button on base layer and set initial state to hidden. I tried to do a trigger to change state of next button to normal when state of each task is visited so they can proceed to next page when they have checked each button. I use SL2 infrequently and can't figure out how to get this to work. Would appreciate any advice!
You might add a trigger to the next button: Change the state of next button to normal when state of checkbox 1, checkbox 2, checkbox 3, checkbox 4 and ... are selected.
Thanks everyone! This is one of the few projects I made specifically to be used by others as a template, so it's nice to see it's being put to good use!
Kathy - You could add the next button to the final slide layer that appears once the last check box is checked. Then you wouldn't need to even change the state of the button. It would just appear once every box is checked. Just an idea!
Hi Avril. I don't think there's a way to use this template in Rise. However, there is a "block" in Rise, under the "List" section. It's a checkbox list. It won't look the same, but I think it's the closest you'll be able to get using Rise.
This is fantastic! However, when I import it into my current presentation, it doesn't quite seem to line up all the way. I haven't touched anything in terms of the triggers, so I'm wondering if you may have troubleshooting tips? It seems to only put the checkmark next to the Task Two, outside of the checkbox, and freeze on that layer.
Hi Katie! I'm not sure what's happening there. If you haven't already figured out a solution, perhaps you could post your storyline file and I could take a look?
Ok Katie. I figured out the problem (I emailed you a fixed file)! Somehow, when the interaction was inserted into your project, the "visited" state of the checkbox got messed up. If you click one of the checkboxes (such as "Check 1" on the timeline) and then click the "States" tab, you'll see that the check mark had moved away from the check box. I just hit "edit states," selected the "visited" state and moved the checkmark back onto the checkbox. I then did the same for each of the other checkboxes. What was happening when you previewed, is that once you clicked the first checkbox, the checkmark appeared and blocked you from clicking the next checkbox.
Hopefully that helps!
Hi Brandon! I love this design! Quick question - when I add this SL item into my Rise and then upload into my LMS, it doesn't hold the check marks once the user completes it. Is there a way to keep the check marks once the user completes each one instead of it resetting? Thanks!
