A likert scale, or “rating scale,” is a way of measuring a survey participant’s attitudes, values, or opinions. It includes a statement or question with an odd-numbered set of responses ranging from one extreme to another, with a neutral option in the middle.
For example, in response to the question, “How would you rate the usefulness of this course to your work?”, the participant could choose an option on a scale from “Not useful at all” to “Extremely useful.”
