Subject Matter Expert (SME)

A subject matter expert (SME) is a person who is an expert in a specific domain, job, task, or topic. SMEs are an important part of the e-learning development process; they are often asked to share their knowledge and expertise to help create training materials. A SME may also review storyboards and for accuracy and approve various training materials.
