White space, or negative space, is the empty, unmarked space between the elements in a design. When referring to white space as a design element, it doesn’t have to be white. It can be any color or pattern, or even a background image.
In e-learning, course designers use white space in a variety of ways. For example, white space can be used to make the text pop more legibly and improve readability.
